Chelsea fans have been reacting positively to the news that Mason Mount has committed his future to the club and signed a new deal.

The Blues announced on their official website that the 20-year-old midfielder had put pen-to-paper on a new five-year deal which could see him at Stamford Bridge until the 2023/24 campaign. He has been at the club since the age of six and has worked his way up through the academy system, twice lifting the FA Youth Cup with the Blues.
Mount earned glowing reviews last season for his performances under Frank Lampard at Derby County and Football.London journalist Oliver Harbord claimed he felt the youngster was best-positioned to make a breakthrough into Chelsea’s first-team.
He said: “But Mount is ready to play for Chelsea, you have to believe that. And with Lampard at the helm, you can only feel he is going to get his chances.”
The midfielder was clinical in the middle of the park for the Rams as he managed to record 11 goals and provide six assists in his 44 matches (Transfermarkt), whilst also going on to make an average of 2.5 shots and 1.9 key passes per game in his 38 outings in the Championship (WhoScored) and further emphasising the point that Harbord made regarding his creativity and finishing.
The England Under-21 international is a part of the Chelsea squad that travelled to Japan for their pre-season tour and will be looking to play a role when they take on J-League champions Kawasaki Frontale and Barcelona.
