Chelsea went into Sunday’s clash against Spurs three points ahead of them in fourth, and fans were not happy once they saw the team sheet. When the starting 11 was announced, plenty of fans reacted sarcastically at Frank Lampard’s choices out of disbelief that he’s selected the side he did.
The Blues’ team was without Christian Pulisic, who had started the previous seven league games, or Jorginho and had three centre-backs and two wing-backs. According to WhoScored, Lampard has only used three centre-backs one other time this Premier League season, when they beat Wolves 5-2 away from home.
Perhaps this brave change of tactics scared Chelsea fans. The club posted the line-up on Twitter and plenty of them replied to show their dismay at the team. Some even asked for those in charge of the account to stop joking and to post the actual team.
Today’s team to play Tottenham!
