Some Chelsea fans have rallied in support of Kepa Arrizabalaga on Twitter following their defeat to Manchester City on Saturday evening (Sky Sports).
The Spanish goalkeeper has come under fire for his performances in between the sticks as of late for the Blues, with some fans believing he is not good enough for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Indeed, there would have been an untold amount of pressure on his shoulders following his world-record £71.6m deal in the summer of 2018 and, perhaps, his overall figures have not quite justified that price-tag.
According to data collected by TransferMarkt during his time in west London, Kepa has conceded 76 goals in his 71 appearances for Chelsea, keeping 27 clean sheets across all competitions.
Those figures could be interpreted as some rather fine numbers when being viewed on paper, however a certain section of the Blues’ fanbase appears to have lost faith in the Spaniard.
Nonetheless, one section of the club’s faithful have decided to rally around him following their defeat to Man City, with many feeling the 25-year-old was not to blame for the goals conceded and accused some of the supporters of creating an agenda against the ‘keeper.
