Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over Aston Villa saw their winless run of three games come to an end ahead of their visit to Everton on Saturday. Willian was rated 8/10 by WhoScored for his contribution to the win amid talk of him being awarded a new contract.
Just last month, manager Frank Lampard expressed how much he wants the Brazilian to stay at Stamford Bridge, saying: “I think everyone sees from what I’m saying, and I’m relying on him and picking him and he’s producing, I love him at this football club.” (via The Sun)
He has played in 14 of the club’s 15 Premier League games this season and has key experience considering he’s aged 31 and played more than 300 times for Chelsea.
Willian posted a tweet thanking the fans for their support, including a few action shots of him during the game. Plenty of Chelsea fans were quick to respond and many called for him to sign a new deal ahead of his contract running out in the summer.
