Lots of Chelsea fans believe that Ruben Loftus-Cheek should return to the midfield once the England international has returned to full fitness after nearly nine months out.
The 24-year-old midfielder returned to the pitch this week as Loftus-Cheek played nearly an hour of football for the Blues in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Brentford B (per Chelsea’s official website). The Chelsea academy graduate ruptured his Achilles last year in a charity match against the New England Revolution, as reported by The Guardian.
A number of Chelsea fans are keen on seeing the midfielder return to the starting XI when he is given the all-clear after Twitter user CFC-Blues asked supporters to name their ‘best midfield three’ if every midfielder in the Blues squad is fit, with Loftus-Cheek being mentioned in the majority of trios.
Frank Lampard is yet to nail on with a formation for Chelsea, with the former Derby manager changing between a 4-2-3-1 and a 4-3-3 (per Transfermarkt).
