Chelsea: Fans were delighted to see Christian Pulisic come on for Mason Mount

Chelsea fans on Twitter were loving the decision Frank Lampard made during the Newcastle United match to bring on Christian Pulisic.

The United States of America winger was brought on to replace Mason Mount with just under 30 minutes to play and the 21-year-old looked to get involved in the game as quickly as he possibly could.

According to the data collected by WhoScored, the ex-Borussia Dortmund attacker managed to achieve one shot at goal (which was on target), provide one key pass and complete 88.9% of his 18 attempted passes to a team-mate.

Things have been rather tough for Pulisic lately, as he has had to be patient and wait for his opportunity in Lampard’s side. Prior to the game with Newcastle on Saturday, he had managed to make just seven appearances for a total of 451 minutes – although he has been able to chip in with four assists (TransferMarkt) since his January 2019 £58m move (BBC).

Indeed, once his substitution had been announced, a number of fans had flocked to Twitter to share their immediate opinions to the decision, with many of them appearing to love what the manager had chosen to do.
