Kai Havertz is reportedly ‘pushing hard’ to get his transfer to Chelsea over the line before Bayer Leverkusen’s Europa League match next week.
According to Sky Sports, the 21-year-old is desperate to tie up the loose ends of this deal and finally open up his chapter at Stamford Bridge.
Could Chelsea win the Premier League next season?
The transfer is all but complete, with Havertz and his agent already agreeing personal terms with Marina Granovskaia. According to Nico Schira (via Daily Express), the German international has accepted a five-year deal with Chelsea worth £7.3million, which will see him earn £140,000 per week.
Leverkusen recently told Havertz they would green light his move away from the club if he stayed in Germany for the remainder of the Europa League. Now, it seems the midfielder has gone back on his word and no longer wants to challenge in the competition.
Havertz has been valued by the club at £90million, but a middle-ground decision of £70m looks to have been decided. Once the deal is finalised, the playmaker will link up with fellow Germany internationals Antonio Rudiger and recent Chelsea signing Timo Werner.
The 21-year-old boasts an impressive 17 goals and nine across all competitions this season (via Transfermarkt). He will undoubtedly bring creativity to the Bridge in abundance and wants that to be the case sooner rather than later.
