Chelsea: Juventus make offer to buy Blues winger Willian

Chelsea's Willian looks dejected after Sheffield United's second goal

Juventus are tracking a move for Chelsea winger Willian with the Brazilian’s contract set to expire next summer, according to Corriere Dello Sport.

Willian played under current Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri last season and won the Europa League under the Italian last season, and the report suggests the former Blues boss is looking for options on the wing.

The Brazil international has also been the subject of multiple bids from Barcelona over the last few years with Chelsea rejecting them all (via The Telegraph).

However, it seems the Catalan giants could return for the 31-year-old if he was to become a free agent in the summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

A move away from Chelsea could be the worst thing the Blues can do at this moment in time. Frank Lampard has attempted to integrate youth into the Chelsea first team this season and needs experienced players like Willian at the club to make the project successful.

The importance of his experience was shown during the game against Crystal Palace, where the winger wore the captain’s armband as he assisted the opening goal in a comfortable win.

He’s also shown his quality in the final third this season, having scored three goals and contributed another three assists in 15 games across all competitions (via Transfermarkt).

In comparison, Pedro has endured a tough season with the west London club this year and should be the one to make way if the club feels the need to sell a winger. The former Barcelona man has yet to score or assist in the Premier League or Champions League this campaign, featuring in just eight games across all competitions.

Lampard handing Willian the armband could be seen as a way of placing an enormous amount of trust in the Brazilian. If he was to leave the club, his experience will be sorely missed by the young stars like Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham, who have thrived off his experience in attack.

Chelsea fans, what do you make of the potential sale of Willian? Let us know your thoughts!
