Here are reports on a trio of Chelsea players currently out on loan, with goals, assists and yellow cards all on the agenda as these Blues endure mixed weeks whilst earning valuable minutes for their respective loan clubs.

LUCAS PIAZON

Lucas Piazon notched his first goal since moving on loan to Portuguese outfit Rio Ave, scoring a late winner against Sporting Lisbon in the Allianz Cup, one of two Portuguese domestic cup competitions.

The match against Sporting was Piazon’s first start for Rio Ave, having been limited to just 50 minutes of action from the bench up until Thursday’s clash, which has given the club a perfect start to the group phase.

Despite opening his goal account for his new club, he was an unused substitute as Rio Ave were beaten at home by FC Porto last weekend.

KENEDY

It has been a week of two halves for Kenedy, with the Brazilian recording an assist in a thrilling topsy-turvy match against Valencia which ended 3-3.

Kenedy is yet to start in La Liga for Getafe, though his effective half-hour against Valencia led to 45 minutes against Barcelona, which proved a taller task for him and his side, as he was booked during Getafe’s eventual 2-0 defeat.

However, with Kenedy starting Getafe’s last Europa League match, he may well be up for a starting berth as they prepare to take on Russian outfit FC Krasnodar on Thursday.

LEWIS BAKER

While fellow Chelsea loanee Ethan Ampadu has struggled for minutes in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, Lewis Baker has been a regular for Fortuna Dusseldorf, starting five of their opening six league games.

He was unable to prevent them from falling to Freiburg as their disappointing start to the season continued at the weekend, but Baker got another useful 90 minutes under his belt as the 24-year-old looks to make an impression in Germany.

It has been a rather positive week for this Blues trio from an experience point of view, though the same might not be said for all of them on the results front.

However, it seems that they are all in action for their loan clubs in some form, and particularly for Piazon and Kenedy, their effectiveness after being left out in numerous games previously is surely a positive sign for both their loan clubs as well as Chelsea.

Whether they can stake a claim for a prolonged run in the team like Baker is currently enjoying remains to be seen, but it seems as if they are at least heading in the right direction.

Chelsea fans, where are these three players’ careers headed? Do they have any chance of a Chelsea future? Let us know in the comments below!
