The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have had an awful lot to deal with over the course of the summer on the striker front.
Indeed, Alvaro Morata has been brought in at club record expense, Fernando Llorente opted to join arch rivals Tottenham instead, while Diego Costa has been on a full-blown strike against the Premier League champions.
Now, reports from the Daily Mail hint at some more dramatic news surrounding a Chelsea marksman.
They’ve revealed Nigeria are attempting to nab Tammy Abraham from under the noses of England, in an effort to hand the striker his international debut. The 19-year-old is currently on loan with Swansea City after proving wonderfully prolific for Bristol City last season, notching 26 times for the Robins.
He’s already represented the England U21 side, though is still able to switch allegiances and qualifies for the Super Eagles through his father, despite being born in London.
‘We are working on getting Abraham,’ said Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick.
‘Tammy is like my son. His father and I grew up in the same neighborhood.”
‘So when they talk about him, I just laugh because I know what to do.’
Chelsea teammate Victor Moses is another to have done exactly that, having represented the Young Lions once before becoming a fully-fledged Nigeria international.

Many of the Blues in our bar hope Abraham DOES switch over to Nigeria. They believe the pressure put on England players can prove detrimental over time and, with the likes of Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford likely to occupy the striking positions, want the teen to spearhead the Super Eagles.
