Chelsea outcast defender happy at the club despite talks of return to Spain

LuisChelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are more confused about the future of their outcast defender after talkSPORT revealed that Filipe Luis is happy at Stamford Bridge but admits things can twist and change in football any minute.

In the run in towards the end of this season, Luis has been heavily linked with a move back to Atletico Madrid, having spent the majority of this season on the bench.

He has had to play second fiddle to Cesar Azpilicueta, who Jose Mourinho is a big fan of, and it is unlikely that the Brazilian will be able to push himself ahead of Spaniard in the near future.

So he could be tempted by a move back to the Vicente Calderon, to hook up with his former boss Diego ‘El Cholo’ Simeone, where the grass seems greener.

He insists that despite his lack of involvement in the starting 11, he is determined to win as much as possible with the Blues.

“I’m just focused on Chelsea, on working hard and giving my best in order to end the season with another important and beautiful trophy,” Luis said.

“Of course, everything can change in football, but I’m happy and have a three-year contract at Chelsea that I’d like to see out.

“I’ve had some of the best years of my career at Atletico and remember the supporters, my teammates and the coaching staff fondly

“I’m really fond of ‘El Cholo’, he’s a coach that taught me so much.”
