Chelsea place £100 million price tag on “important” forward loved by Enzo Maresca

Fresh off a campaign that saw them lift the UEFA Europa Conference League and return to the Champions League, Chelsea have shown no signs of slowing down.

Determined to take the next step under new head coach Enzo Maresca, the Blues are executing a bold and aggressive summer rebuild.

They’ve already added a mix of emerging talent and proven potential — including Liam Delap, João Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Dário Essugo, and Brazilian sensation Estevão Willian (joining in 2025). It’s a transfer strategy that signals Chelsea’s intent: they’re building a younger, more dynamic squad capable of competing at the highest level.

But with so many players coming in, it’s inevitable that some will head the other way.

Several exits have already been confirmed. Noni Madueke is close to completing a move to Arsenal, which is where Kepa Arrizabalaga has also moved to following a loan spell at Bournemouth. Bashir Humphreys has joined Burnley, and Mathis Amougou — only signed in February — has been sold to RC Strasbourg.

Now, more high-profile departures could follow — and one of them may involve a key figure from Chelsea’s last two seasons.

That player is Nicolas Jackson, who has led the line for Chelsea as their first-choice striker since arriving in 2023.

The Senegal international, described as “important” by Enzo Maresca, has scored 30 goals and registered 12 assists in 80 appearances for the club. While those numbers are respectable, they fall short of the elite-level output Chelsea are targeting as they aim to challenge for the Premier League title.

With João Pedro and Liam Delap now in the squad, Chelsea appear open to selling Jackson — but only for the right price.

And that price is massive.

According to a new report from the Daily Mail, Chelsea have set a £100 million price tag on Jackson — a figure that is likely to deter many suitors.

One club still showing interest is AC Milan, who have placed Jackson on a six-man shortlist for a new striker. Milan, who have done regular business with Chelsea in recent years, are looking to reinforce their frontline after Tammy Abraham returned to Roma (and subsequently joined Beşiktaş on loan), and Luka Jović was released.

The Italian side reportedly believe Jackson could be lured away from Stamford Bridge — but only if Chelsea lower their asking price. As it stands, the £100m valuation could be a deal-breaker.

Whether Chelsea are serious about letting Jackson go — or simply sending a strong message — remains to be seen.
