Early season form is looking good and the Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are starting to get excited for what is looking like a three-way race for the Premier League.

After losing their opening fixture to Burnley 3-2, things have gone from strength to strength for the London side, hoisting themselves up to third in the league and being labelled as one of the Premier Leagues ‘Top 3’.

Now the saga of Diego Costa is over, Antonio Conte can concentrate on the matters in hand. Indeed, new signing Alvaro Morata is fitting in nicely, with a decent start to his first English season, much to the delight of the Blues in our bar.

Chelsea and Conte will be desperate to reclaim their trophy this year and some of our punters in her believe the way to do that is to freshen up the squad come January.

By the end of December, he’ll surely have a clearer idea of who he needs. With that in mind, this is the time now to impress.

Our Landlord reckons these three may be seeing the Stamford Bridge exit door come January 1st.

Kenedy

After being sent home pre-season and not really living up to expectations at the Bridge, Kenedy saw a move to Newcastle on a season-long loan collapse.

Seemingly not to be featured in Conte’s plans, it looked like the Brazilian’s days at Chelsea would be wasted.

It looks as if Conte is to give him a chance of redemption in cup games, though with the left winger now playing a left wing-back role, he may seek a move to play in the role that feels more natural to him.

Usually a goalscorer, Kenedy may start to feel frustrated.

Michy Batshuayi

When the World Cup season rolls around, everyone wants to be considered the first choice for club and country.

The Belgian is no different, having to be settled with playing second fiddle to Morata, Batshuayi will want to make the move come January if his first-team minutes don’t pick up.

After an impressive Euros last time out earned him a move to the Blues, it’s a move away that looks likely to have any chance of impressing Belgian boss, Roberto Martinez.

Matej Delac

Chelsea’s longest serving player in a post-John Terry Chelsea era, Matej Delac has never actually made an appearance for the Blues, having been loaned out to seemingly every team in Europe over his seven years with the club.

With his contract running out at the end of the season, Chelsea may look to offload the goalkeeper to recoup some of the money they’ve spent on wages.
