Chelsea simply must be thinking about these 2 potential targets during the international break

Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are welcoming the international break and, will be hoping that their side will come out the other side a refreshed team following the FA Cup win against Leicester City.

Chelsea, so far this year, have not been firing on all fronts like the Champions of England should be. Having slipped out of the top-four due to poor form and having suffered several crushing defeats, missing out on the Champions League for the second time in three years is looking like a realistic possibility. The Blues in the bar seems to be feeling down and disappointed in the team as a whole, but will be hoping that a semi-final game in the FA Cup can lift spirits.

Antonio Conte is not only battling the media with this current rocky patch but also the board, as it seems he is living on borrowed time. While they are still Premier League champions and are fairing a lot better than last time they won the league under Jose Mourinho, Conte should use this break as a time to scout further recruits should he still be there next season.

Conte will be hoping that a break from the weekly rigours of Premier League football will help his players come back refreshed and raring to go. However, our landlord things that the Italian should be taking a look at these TWO potential targets also…

Ciro Immobile

The Italian striker is in red-hot form this season and is firing one goal every game so far this campaign for Lazio, by no means an easy feat over in Serie A. Conte will surely know more about him from his time with the Italian team and perhaps he could come in to challenge both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud in equal measure.

Chelsea need a reliable and consistent striker and few, at the moment, come more consistent than Immobile.

Nabil Fekir

The Lyon midfielder has certainly caused a stir this season in Ligue 1 and if he gets given the chance to perform on the national stage, it will surely show at what level Nabir Fekir is truly at. He is an attacking midfielder that could potentially replace the likes of Eden Hazard further down the line, as well as compliment them now in the short-term.

Chelsea need midfield options and players to bring a little something different to the play and the Frenchman would certainly improve what’s currently on offer at Stamford Bridge.
