Confirmed: Celtic wrap up one of the biggest transfer in the club’s history

Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted that the club have announced their first deal of the summer, having finally got their man.

The club’s official website has announced that the Hoops have completed the signing of Odsonne Edouard on a permanent deal following his hugely successful loan spell at Parkhead. The Bhoys broke their transfer record fee to bring the former Paris Saint-Germain striker to Glasgow on a four-year deal.

The 20-year-old scored a number of goals in an impressive season for Brendan Rodgers side, including a number of key strikes against Old Firm Rivals Rangers and a hat-trick against Motherwell.

The striker revealed that he is delighted to commit his future to the club and insisted that he was desperate to remain at Celtic Park following the conclusion of his loan spell.

“From the moment I walked into Celtic, the club has felt like home to me. I have been made to feel so welcome by everyone at the club and our fans have given me such brilliant support,” he told the club’s official website.

“Celtic is one of the world’s greatest football clubs and I was desperate to make my move permanent. The scenes from May when we achieved such a historic Double Treble and made the city come alive are still very fresh in our memories.”
