Conte must drop these 2 Chelsea players for their next match with Tottenham

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are hiding their faces in shame following their clubs 3-2 loss to Burnley on the opening day.

The Premier League season is back up and running and the 2017/18 opening weekend provided some of the most entertaining matches in recent memory.

The biggest shock of the opening fixtures saw Sean Dyche’s Burnley beat the Premier League champions Chelsea in their own back yard.

A 3-2 win against nine-man Chelsea will go down in history as one of the best results in Burnley’s history, but Chelsea could have easily avoided it.

Red cards from captain Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas didn’t make the Champion’s task any easier but the players who remained on the pitch didn’t exactly pull their weight either.

There is no room for passengers within the Chelsea ranks, every player needs to do their bit if they’re going to improve on their successes from last season.

With that being said, here are two Chelsea players that Antonio Conte needs to drop for their next match against Tottenham.

Michy Batshuayi

Our landlord has always supported Michy Batshuayi.

He would always say “give the kid a chance and he’ll become a star”.

Conte finally gave him the nod ahead of new signing Alvaro Morata and he flopped.

The Belgian just looked lost as the main man up top for Chelsea and was replaced by Morata who went on to score on his debut for the club.

It is unlikely that Conte will be giving Batshuayi another shot in the next game, especially against an opponent like Tottenham.

Willian

Willian didn’t have a bad game at all against Burnley.

However, Chelsea fans will be hoping that by the time the Tottenham game rolls around, Eden Hazard will be fit to play.

If that is the case, someone will have to make way for the best player at the club and it will likely have to be the Brazilian winger.

Chelsea were clearly missing the clinical edge that Hazard provides them with during their opening day fixture and with a big game against Spurs on the horizon, they need to have all guns blazing.
