Conte really should secure a deal for these 2 strikers for Chelsea in January

The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are expecting a busy January…

With Diego Costa currently leading the Premier League scoring charts, you have to wonder why Chelsea would need another striker in their ranks.

The striker has been in incredible form this season, hitting seven goals in eight games.

However, there are two pitfalls to Costa – suspension and injury.

The 28-year-old is notoriously hot-headed and has already picked up four bookings this season, with just one more earning him a suspension. The striker also clashed with manager Antonio Conte after the Italian did not substitute him against Leicester.

Costa has also struggled with hamstring injuries during his time in England and has missed a number of games as a result.

If the striker was to be out for a prolonged period of time the Blues would be able to call upon Michy Batshuayi – who still lacks Premier League experience.

With that in mind, Conte may look to bring in another option in January. Here are two men it would be worth investing in.

Andrea Belotti

Andrea Belotti is currently enjoying his breakthrough season with Torino having scored five goals in his first five games.

The 22-year-old also scored his first goal for Italy over the international break, scoring the first goal against Macedonia.

His price is only likely to go up if the Turin hitman continues his fine form, and he would hopefully settle quickly under an Italian manager.

Alexandre Lacazette

The second man on our list is a signing that a few of the punters in the Football Transfer Tavern have been dreaming of as of late.

Despite missing the start of the season due to injury, Lacazette has burst into life in Ligue 1 with six goals in five appearances.

Lyon may be willing to sell should they fail to make it out of their Champions League group, which looks likely after a loss to Sevilla.

If that is the case, Chelsea could steal a march on their rivals with a large bid as other Premier League clubs would be unlikely to spend big on someone who would be ineligible for Europe, an issue irrelevant to Chelsea this year.
