The punters in the Football Transfer Tavern have been impressed with Chelsea so far this season, especially with their midfield, but they feel like they could do with reinforcements.
It seems like Cesc Fabregas could be on the move in January and so that means that there will be a need for someone else to come to Stamford Bridge in January.
With Victor Moses showing how well he can play and the likes of Michael Essien having played for the club, they could look to Africa for their next acquisition. The tavern punters have been discussing who they think Chelsea should bring from the quickest developing continent in football and quite a few names have been thrown about.
The landlord has been listening in and come up with TWO African midfielders who Chelsea should sign in January.
Do you agree with these picks and who would you like to see coming to Stamford Bridge in 2017? Let us know.
Serey Die
If Chelsea want someone who can come in and fill in if Nemanja Matic or N’Golo Kante get injured, Serey Die could be a very good option.
He wouldn’t be too expensive, freeing up funds for other players while giving some great cover.
He is a combative midfielder who will suit Antonio Conte’s style of play perfectly, especially when they play the 3-4-3 formation. He would not be a landmark signing, but would still perform well in a blue shirt and help the side out.
Naby Keita

Red Bull Leipzig have been a revelation in their first season in the Bundesliga, to the anger of everyone else in Germany.
One man who has been central to their success so far is Naby Keita, who has played every game in the league to date and scored three goals.
He has only just moved from Red Bull Salzburg but if Chelsea moved in for him, the lure of the Premier League could be enough him to prize him away from the Red Bull brand, though they could be unwilling to sell someone who is a big asset for them.
