While the Blues supporters in the Transfer Tavern acknowledge that it would be wholly unrealistic to flood the first-team with academy prospects, an increased fixture list could develop into greater reliance on the club’s young stars.

Towards the end of last season, Chelsea supporters had the opportunity to witness their young talents in action – something that the Blues fans here in the Tavern hope will happen more frequently.

As Conte’s men set on a quest to secure domination in all four major competitions this season, it’s exceedingly likely that the club’s young stars will be rewarded with minutes.

Charly Musonda

One such player is Chelsea’s Belgian prodigy, Charly Musonda.

The 20-year-old was widely regarded as the Blues’ next superstar, yet a stagnant loan period with Real Betis in Spain has slowed his progression somewhat.

In 24 appearances at the club, the Belgian only managed to score a single goal, and consequently, his loan spell was terminated earlier than scheduled by Antonio Conte.

Nonetheless, this isn’t to say that the 20-year-old doesn’t exhibit an aptitude to play football.

His potential is certainly vast, and under the appropriate supervision, Musonda could prosper into a leading star.

The winger is recognised for his pace and creativity, his ability to glide past an opponent effortlessly is stunning, and accordingly, he’s often fouled.

While his physicality and passing do require improvement, there’s no questioning his talent. Without a doubt, the 20-year-old could prove to be an exceedingly intriguing option for Conte.

Kenedy

Kenedy is another player whose Chelsea career was preordained for greatness, yet the reality has yet to mirror the aspirations so far.

The 21-year-old’s career began promisingly, featuring 20 times in his first season with the club scoring two goals.

Renowned for his physicality, marvellous dribbling ability and relentless speed, expectations were set high for Chelsea’s latest youth recruit.

However, his career has regressed these past twelve months.

A bitterly disappointing spell at Watford coupled with two appearances for Chelsea has seen his involvement severely restricted.

Although, if Conte can manage to ensure that the Brazilian displays the same form he produced at the beginning of his Chelsea career, the Italian could find that he has a unique player at his disposal.
