Aaron Wan-Bissaka latest: Crystal Palace have genuine chance

Aaron Wan-Bissaka latest: Crystal Palace have genuine chance -Crystal Palace News

Crystal Palace re-signing former star Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United is a real possibility, according to journalist Ryan Taylor.

The Lowdown: Wan-Bissaka unwanted at United

The Englishman made a big-money move to Old Trafford back in 2019, following some superb performances for Palace which had seen his stock rise hugely.

Unfortunately, Wan-Bissaka has struggled to cut the mustard at United, looking out of his depth at times and completely losing his place in the side this season.

It looks almost certain that the 25-year-old will leave in January or next summer and a return to Palace has been mooted in recent months.

The Latest: Palace reunion possible

Speaking in an interview with Give Me Sport, Taylor said that a Selhurst Park reunion could well be on the cards for Wan-Bissaka:

“I think Wan-Bissaka would obviously be the realistic option. I think it’s clear he’s going to leave United in January, to be honest, provided they get a replacement in.

“Palace and West Ham tried to get him in the final stages of the summer window, but United didn’t have enough time to get a replacement.

“So, I think I expect Palace to look at Wan-Bissaka and maybe other targets if the right one crops up.”

The Verdict: Popular signing

This is an outcome that would surely please everyone, with Palace no doubt jumping at the opportunity to bring back one of their former young heroes, who has been hailed as ‘excellent’ by Harry Maguire.

Similarly, the idea of coming back to the club he loves would likely appeal to the right-back, who is looking to rebuild his career after such a disappointing few years.

At 25, he still has so much to offer, and it could simply be that the pressure at Old Trafford was too much at such a young age, with Palace the perfect standard for him to shine at. It would be a popular move, not to mention strengthening Patrick Vieira’s defensive options greatly.
