A number of disgruntled Gooners believe that Arsene Wenger needs to leave Arsenal in order for the club to move forward.
Whilst some of you reading this may agree, one man certainly doesn’t, former vice-chairman David Dein . Dein, who worked with Wenger for almost 12 years, recently stated and believes that the Frenchman is still the best man for Arsenal.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live’s SportsWeek over the weekend, Dein said:
‘He wants to win. I believe in his ability and I know for a fact he is trying very hard to improve the squad this year and I hope he does it.
People have got to remember what he has achieved. It is easy in life to get rid of people. Then what? How do you follow Arsene Wenger? That is going to be the trick for the board and it is not going to be an easy exercise.’
Although Arsenal have gone six years without any silverware, my faith is still with Le Professeur.
I know that he has the ability to get us back to the top, just look how close we came last season. We are still a top four side regardless of what people may say – which is more than can be said for most sides in the Premier League. My only worry is that, if Arsenal do decide to part ways with Wenger where would we be?
If anyone deserves to be at the club its Wenger – let’s not forget that he was the mastermind behind our invincible season.
Without question, Arsenal are going to win something in the near future, we just need a little more time to find the winning formula.
I know that there are a lot of ‘glory’ supporters out there who expect to win something year in year out and if this doesn’t happen then they call for a massive shake up within the club. However, truth be told, most Arsenal fans (including myself) believe that Arsene Wenger is still the right/best man for the job.
