We’ve all witnessed the torrid start that David Moyes had made in his time at Sunderland so far – with 5 points from their opening 11 games.

It’s easy to see why many punters here at the Transfer Tavern are wondering how the Scot is still in the job.

He’s not done much right since leaving Everton and we are sure that even now he’s kicking himself for ever doing so… Then again the prospect of managing Manchester United would’ve been impossible to turn down – especially as the ‘Chosen One’.

There are an array of players in the current Sunderland squad that could do with a move away from the Stadium of Light in January, and out landlord has selected THREE who should depart on loan…

DONALD LOVE

The Scot arrived alongside Paddy McNair at the start of Moyes’ rein at the club and like his short spell in the United team, was rather underwhelming so far.

It is more likely that Love will progress should he decide to go on-loan in the Championship or below.

At 21-years-old he is still more than likely set for a bright future at the Stadium of Light but he just needs some time away to improve.

GEORGE HONEYMAN

The 22-year-old had a stint in the Sunderland side that managed to somehow stay up under previous boss Sam Allardyce, but he’s found himself mostly on the bench thus far under Moyes’ tenure.

The 22-year-old is yet to feature this season and he must look for a loan move away!

We feel a future is there for the impressive midfielder.

JOEL ASORO

The 17-year-old Swede striker has a bright future ahead of him and for sure will be in the future plans at the club.

However being that the club are struggling for goals you’d like to imagine the more senior strikers will be in the starting XI!

This is not to say that’s the correct decision as we’ve all seen what the likes of Rashford and Iheanacho have done when given their chances.

He could favour a loan move within the Football League to improve his game.
