Dedryck Boyata delighted plenty of Celtic fans with his Saturday showing

Yesterday saw Celtic carry on their slow return to form as they overcame Aberdeen 1-0 at Parkhead. The Dandies are never an easy side to face yet Scott Sinclair came off the bench to score the decisive goal and get Brendan Rodgers’ side all three points in the huge Scottish Premier League clash, however, it was Dedryck Boyata who won the man of the match award for his stellar display.

Brendan Rodgers will have been delighted to have seen his side bounce back from last weekend’s disappointment against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park and the fact they’ve got their fourth win of the season is huge for the fans. The league season hasn’t started well for Celtic. Loses to both Hearts and Kilmarnock inside the first seven games have left The Bhoys sitting 4th, behind both of the side’s who have bested them and Hibs.

Later today it could get worse for Celtic, though, as if Rangers beat Livingston they will usurp the Hoops and climb to 2nd. For now, though, the Celtic fans will be more focused on their win today and the superb form of Boyata. The Belgian defender has shown his worth over the last few weeks despite the club being in poor form and if he can carry on showing what he’s made of at the back then it’s hard to see Rodgers’ side dropping more points this season.
