The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have been used to celebrating Gareth Bale over the years.
Indeed, with the Welsh superstar having thrilled our local Lillywhites prior to his move to Real Madrid in 2013, not many of our north London locals were surprised last night.
Bale scored a wonder goal during Los Blancos’ 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in Germany as the Champions League holders made it two wins from two ahead of a doubleheader against Tottenham during the next two UCL match days.
So, while his strike was celebrated far and wide for its sheer brilliance, Tottenham fans online were delighted for another reason.
Many of them believe it’ll help the overall complexion of the group, one the La Liga giants will surely win. With him helping beat Dortmund, it increases Spurs’ chances of progressing into the next round, something they failed to do last term.
