Chelsea supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern have been alerted to the news filtering in from the Chelsea Official Site, with the site confirming that Chelsea’s 21-year-old defender Alex Davey has joined Norweigan club Stabaek Fotball on loan.
Our resident Chelsea fans enjoying a beer and burger special here in the Tavern feel that this is a good move for the Scotland under-19 international, as it is evident he was getting nowhere near the first-team at Stamford Bridge.
Our landlord has been down to watch the Chelsea under-21’s numerous times this season and has been impressed with Davey, and similarly to the Chelsea fans, thinks this is an excellent loan move for all parties involved.
The centre-back has enjoyed loan spells in the Football League with the likes of Scunthorpe United and Peterborough United, and impressed during his stints there – this move will certainly be a culture shock to the youngster, as it’ll be his first time playing football abroad!
