Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are raising their glasses of ale and toasting Ben Davies, following news the Wales international has signed a new contract at White Hart Lane.
The Lilywhites snapped up the left-back from Swansea City in 2014 and although he’s yet to make more than 17 Premier League appearances in a single season for the north London club, Davies has performed competently when called upon to fill the void of first-choice No.3 Danny Rose.
He’s also started at centre-back five times this season, highlighting how the 23-year-old has become an important and useful member of Spurs’ first-team squad even if he doesn’t always make the starting Xi.
Regardless of his limited playing time, it appears Mauricio Pochettino is a keen admirer of the 6 foot defender, with the Lilywhites handing him a new contract until 2021.

In the absence of Rose, Davies started against Everton last weekend and provided the assist for Harry Kane’s opening goal in a 3-2 win at White Hart Lane.
