The Arsenal fans are feeling apprehensive in the Transfer Tavern ahead of their huge clash with Tottenham Hotspur in the North-London derby this afternoon.
Arsene Wenger takes his Arsenal side to Wembley tomorrow to face Tottenham in a fixture which could make or break their ambitions of qualifying for the Champions League this season. The Gunners hopes of finishing inside the top-four are currently hanging by a thread, but a victory over their bitter local-rivals in the opening fixture of the weekend would certainly put them right back into contention.
However, if Arsenal are defeated by Tottenham, they will fall 7 points behind their rivals with just 11 matches to play – a deficit which would leave them needing to win the majority, if not all of their remaining fixtures to achieve their Premier League objective this season.
In anticipation for their side’s fixture, the Arsenal supporters have been discussing their potential line-up on Twitter, and it appears the majority are eager to see Wenger drop Alex Iwobi from the starting line-up.
Although Iwobi (valued at £9 million by Transfermarkt) rarely completes a 90 minute match, he has become something of a first-team regular in recent weeks as Wenger has opted to start him in each of Arsenal’s last four league outings. The Nigerian international has scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists during this time, but his impact has clearly not been enough to convince the majority of supporters that he should start tomorrow.
Wenger appears to have placed plenty of trust in the 21-year-old of late, but it seems the Arsenal supporters are struggling to see what their manager sees in him.
Here’s what The Gunners faithful on Twitter had to say about Iwobi’s potential involvement against Spurs…
Iwobi is awful and PLEASE don’t tell me Ramsey has been our best player. Truth is should be Xhaka Holding with both Ramsey & JW drop Iwobi

Drop xhaka for Wilshere. He will do better with Ramsey. Play ospina and drop iwobi for lacca

I'd actually play both of them and Elneny in a midfield 3 then drop Iwobi but if I had to pick one I'd go with Jack

I'd pick ramsey based on results this season with each player. But both could play and drop teachers pet iwobi 3,1,5,1 or 4,1,4,1

Play Ramsey Wilshere and Xhaka, drop Iwobi, pack the midfield, let Ozil, Auba and Mkhitaryan do there thing in attack. Ramsey and Wilshere get in on the attack when necessary, job done.
