This weekend sees one of the oldest rivalries in football renew fierce acquaintances as Celtic take on Rangers in the Old Firm derby and the Hoops will be looking to continue their unbeaten run in the league.

Brendan Rodgers’ team are yet to taste defeat in the league this season and they are on the verge of joining several top European outfits in remaining unbeaten for an entire league campaign.

The ex-Liverpool boss has been a quality appointment for the Glaswegian giants and he will no doubt look to conquer Europe next season, having blown his domestic rivals out during this season.

Today’s game is massive for the club’s supporters and here in the Tavern the landlord has put extra door staff on as he looks to avoid any confrontation between the two sets of fans.

Gary Mackay-Steven

The Scottish winger should be dropped this weekend with Patrick Roberts a much better option out on the wing for Celtic.

Mackay-Steven is no slouch but he is nowhere near as good enough as the Manchester City loan star and Roberts should definitely get the nod this weekend.

One Celtic fan is tucking into an all day breakfast and a pint of lager and he believes Roberts is much better option out wide than Mackay-Steven, stating that the Scotsman should be flogged in the summer.

Nir Bitton

The Israeli midfielder could be dropped this weekend with Rodgers likely to go into battle with two up front and Bitton could make way for the additional striker.

The combative midfielder is a good player but tactics may dictate that he doesn’t play this weekend.

One Celtic fan is having a game of pool here in the Tavern and he thinks that Bitton is quality, although he does say that two up front is a must this weekend.
