The Arsenal ‘crisis’ has been put on hold following their recent achievement of reaching the FA Cup final.

However, the Gunners in the Transfer Tavern are still split over whether boss, Arsene Wenger should stay or go as their manager, regardless of whether or not he brings a trophy back to the Emirates Stadium this season.

Many of these fans still appreciate the genius that is Wenger and feel that there is no one better in the world for his role, however the contrasting view states that his tactics are stale and he no longer fuels the fight within the players.

Either way, our landlord has stated that Wenger has made some big decisions this season with the change from a 4-2-3-1 formation to a 3-4-3 being his latest big move.

Our landlord has gone on to state that even though the formation has bought about two wins in the two times it has been used, there are still some players not showing the quality needed in order to wear the Arsenal shirt.

The common thought in the Transfer Tavern is that Giroud should make way for Danny Welbeck in this one, due to the Englishman’s ability to get in behind defences and make selfless runs.

News occurred earlier this week that French side, Marseille may bid up to £20 million for Giroud and with the Frenchman turning 31 in September, our landlord feels this would be a outstanding bit of business for Arsenal if they were to recuperate that money for their striker.

Gabriel

Though our landlord was impressed by Gabriel’s performance at the weekend – he believes the return to fitness of Shkodran Mustafi should oust the Brazilian from Arsene Wenger’s side.

Our Arsenal punters in the Tavern always seem to be nervous when Gabriel plays, and many are commenting that they are always wary of a mistake or a red card whenever he is on the field.
