Fernando 
Llorente is the latest name at the top of Harry Redknapp’s wishlist, and could become the first major signing for the North London club this summer.
With Redknapp keen to give himself new options in attack for the coming season, Llorente would offer a more physical option up top than any of Spurs current strikers.
A World Cup winner, Llorente has played in 13 games for the Spanish national side, netting 7 goals in those appearances, and has only been denied the opportunity of more caps by the superstar pairing of David Villa and Fernando Torres.
His club form was also impressive last season, helping Athletic Bilbao to Europa League qualification, scoring 18 league goals along the way. Having collected 240 appearances for Athletic since his first-team debut in 2005, and earning himself a place in Basque hearts, Harry may well have a battle on his hands if he hopes to secure the signature of one of Europe’s most prized strikers.
Throw into the mix that Athletic will only sign players who are Basque-born, which is itself a very small pool of players, then Athletic manager Marcelo Bielsa will be highly reluctant to sell one of the club’s stars.
Spanish media Fichajes has reported that although Tottenham are not willing to meet the €35M buy-out clause in the player’s contract, pressure to sell from the Athletic board could see the striker leave for a fee in the region of €26M should Redknapp be afforded the cash to make the offer.
