Everton: Fans react as Toffees did not write to CAS to get Manchester City banned from UEFA competition

Loads of Everton fans have been reacting to the news that the Merseyside club were not one of the teams in the Premier League to write to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) back in March to argue that Manchester City should be excluded from European competition, as per the Daily Mail.

This comes after Pep Guardiola’s side managed to overturn their ban of two years from European football following an appeal to CAS over issues with Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules and regulations (via BBC).

Indeed, the clubs from the top flight who wrote to CAS to argue for City’s ban were Arsenal, Burnley, Chelsea, Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

These members of the Goodison Park faithful on Twitter seemed to react to the news in a positive way, with one Everton supporter even suggesting that it ‘would be nice to if this convinces Usmanov’ in reference to the Russian billionaire, who has ties with the Toffees’ majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri, to invest his money into the Blues.
