Everton have had a bid for West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek rejected. The Czech international was originally brought to West Ham in 2020 by then manager David Moyes, and played a crucial role in Moyes’ second stint at the London Stadium.

Moyes is keen to reunite with his former player at Everton but the Toffees have seen their approach for the 30-year-old rebuked. TalkSport has reported that this is the second time Everton have expressed interest in Soucek, having also approached West Ham informally earlier this summer.

Everton were reportedly encouraged by their earlier enquiry, with West Ham manager Graham Potter open to a departure for Soucek if he was able to land his midfield targets. This has proved difficult however for West Ham who have failed in attempts for Galatasaray ace Baris Alper Yılmaz and Southampton’s Tyler Dibling who has now joined Everton.

West Ham have submitted a bid for Southampton midfielder Mateus Fernandes while also agreeing a deal for Monaco’s 21-year-old star Soungoutou Magassa. The door could yet open for Soucek to join Everton in the dying days of the window.

Moyes keen on Soucek reunion

Soucek will have fond memories of playing under Moyes. He joined the Hammers from Slavia Prague in January of 2020 and quickly became a fan favourite at the London Stadium.

He has 38 goals in 234 appearances across all competitions for West Ham, most notable helping the club claim the Conference League title in 2023. Astonishingly, 32 of those goals came under David Moyes.

The ex West Ham manager is now keen to bring his former talisman to Everton. Details on the bid Everton submitted for the player have not been released and it is unknown at this point if they will return with a revised offer.

Everton are enjoying life in their new Hill Dickinson Stadium. They beat Brighton 2-0 in their first ever match their and are now set to welcome Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling in a £35m deal. Dibling becomes David Moyes’ eighth summer signing following the arrivals of Thierno Barry, Jack Grealish, Mark Travers, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Adam Aznou and Tom King.
