Sky Sports certainly have the majority of our punters looking up here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they claim that Ashley Cole will NOT be making a move back to England this winter.
Cole has not exactly settled in so well at Serie A side Roma since his move from Chelsea in the summer and the rumours of a move from Roma to Crystal Palace has been heavily mooted in recent days.
The likes of Manchester City and indeed cross-town rivals United have also been linked with Cole but it seems that for now at least, the left back will be staying in Italy.
Cole’s agent claimed: “Whoever has given this information out is a disgrace because all it does is give fans of a football club false hope.
“Ashley is concentrating on trying to win trophies in Italy and, in particular, Serie A this season. Nothing else.”
We still think that a transfer at the end of the season could still happen and after seeing the likes of Frank Lampard, John Terry and Didier Drogba excel this season, we are pretty sure there is life in Cole yet!
