“First time crisis for Pochettino” – Tottenham fans react to defender’s red card

The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern were once again left frustrated after failing to win for the fourth consecutive Premier League match.

Spurs were held 1-1 against Watford yesterday after going behind early to a Christian Kabasele goal.

The North London outfit equalised through Son but were reduced to ten men shortly after half time after a moment of madness from Davinson Sanchez.

With Brazilian play maker Richarlison gliding past him, Sanchez stepped across his man and deliberately blocked him off.

The referee adjudged Sanchez’s elbow to go into Richarlison’s face and showed him a straight red card – this means that he will be suspended for the next three Premier League matches.

Approaching a busy Christmas period and with Toby Alderweireld sidelined with injury, this is less than ideal for Mauricio Pochettino.
