Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking up from their pints and towards our landlord who seems to think that the Blues could well be set to field a rather young side against their Capital One Cup opponents Shrewsbury Town tonight.
Not only is it yet another fixture for the Blues but it is one that gives Jose Mourinho a rather large headache defensively.
This is after seeing Branislav Ivanovic see red on the weekend against Manchester United with the Serb having to serve a one game ban and Cesar Azpilicueta facing the last of his three-match suspension.
As one of our regulars notes over a pint, it is probably good news for Chelsea and Mourinho that they can get their suspensions out of the way before the Premier League kicks off again this weekend but for tonight, youth could be the way forward.
