Five prodigies West Ham United should look to sign in the summer

Our landlord here at the Transfer Tavern is fully aware of how good the Academy of Football is at West Ham.

Indeed, over the years they have produced some top draw players like Frank Lampard, Mark Noble, Rio Ferdinand and Joe Cole.

In more recent times they have signed players into the academy from other academies or have brought in young players to be involved in both the under 21’s and the first team – like former Chelsea man Domingos Quina.

The Hammers have a great system in place whether it be that they build the player up themselves from scratch or they bring in a player and help them progress through the ranks.

With the long term project to be a very successful club, it’s important for the Irons to bring in quality that is sustainable and will only help improve the club’s future.

With that in mind, West Ham United should look to sign these five prodigies in the summer – according to our landlord…

ISIAH BROWN

Not a hidden prospect but nonetheless still a prodigy.

The Chelsea youngster has been superb on loan spells away from the club at Vitesse, Rotherham and most recently Huddersfield where he’s helping their strong promotion charge. The kid’s got talent and at Chelsea he could risk never featuring for the first team again meaning this move could be a great fit for both the Irons and the player.

TIMOTHY FOSU-MENSAH

Again a well known talent and wouldn’t come cheap, the Dutch born Manchester United defender has found his time on the field limited at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho – despite showing glimpses of class last season.

West Ham are in need of a long term solution to their defensive woes, with their right back area a real problem and so our landlord sees this as a great fit all round.

RONALDO VIEIRA

The young Leeds midfielder from Portugal has a name set for big things!

He is thus far showing his name justice with his decent performances for the Whites. The 18-year-old has shown some sheer class at Elland Road this season and it could be difficult to sign him if they gain promotion. But, either way, the Hammers should try and bring in Vieira in the summer.

MILE SVILAR

This young Belgian keeper will be more on an unknown entity to some of the punters here at the Tavern.

The ‘keeper who is currently behind Davy Roef in the pecking order at Anderlecht at such a young age has showed some great potential and he could be great to addition to the youth setup. Then, when he’s ready, he has the potential to one day replace the likes of Darren Randolph and Adrian.

GIANLUCA SCAMMACCA

The PSV and Italian striker dubbed by the Dutch media as the ‘Italian Ibrahimovic.’

He’s been going well for the Jong PSV side and has featured sparsely for the first team as well this season. He would cost and could be hard for the Hammers to tempt away from the Dutch champs and also tempt to London but he could be the answer to West Ham’s goal-scoring problems in the future.
