Flashback: Harry Redknapp leaves Queens Park Rangers

QPR

Needing immediate knee surgery, Harry Redknapp clearly felt he could not give 100% to Queens Park Rangers heading into an important part of the season for the west London club back in 2015.

That resulted in the 72-year-old resigning as manager (BBC Sport) in a development that, quite frankly, supporters were delighted to see.

19th in the Premier League table and on course for relegation back to the Championship, it was not a surprise to see QPR fans revel in Redknapp’s departure.

Under him, it did not look like the Rs would move forward and progress.

In the likes of Eduardo Vargas, Leroy Fer and Sandro, Redknapp managed to capture some decent players for the 2014/15 Premier League campaign.

But the former Tottenham boss could not get the best out of them, though injuries played their part.

Still, change was needed. And if Redknapp did not jump, he certainly would have been pushed eventually with the way things were going.

In the end, though, nothing really changed as Redknapp’s successor Chris Ramsey failed to inspire a turnaround.

With Ramsey in the Loftus Road dugout, QPR would go on to finish bottom of the table in what was a truly miserable season for the club.

Now being led by Mark Warburton, QPR will be hoping for much better times going forward.
