For today’s WAG we scour the globe and found Sonia Monroy, the Brazilian beauty who snared footballing legend Romario and can boast stripping, modeling, acting and singing as her many talents.
Romario met Monroy back in 1994 at the height of his career, when he won the World Cup with Brazil, was FIFA World Player for the Year and was decimating defences as Barcelona’s key player and top scorer. She was working as a stripper when she met Romario, and the pair started a relationship, which ended when she was pregnant with his child.
Devastated by Romario’s rejection, Sonia, now 39, appeased herself by appearing naked in many magazines, becoming a TV presenter in Brazil and has recently tried to launch a pop career. She entered her song “Yo soy la otra” (“I am the other one” – probably a message to Romario’s wife!), which didn’t make the cut as Spain’s Eurovision entry in 2009.
