Liverpool supporters have been in high spirits in the Transfer Tavern during the international break, with the Reds presiding over a thumping 5-0 victory over Watford in the Premier League in their final match before the fortnight interruption.
Jurgen Klopp’s men were the only side in the top eight in league action last time out due to FA Cup commitments, and the Merseyside giants more than took advantage to move seven points clear of fifth place Chelsea in the race for Champions League qualification. And Mohamed Salah was again the star of the show with four goals in the rout, while Roberto Firmino added the other to secure a comprehensive victory for Klopp’s side, and one that moved them above Tottenham into third place in the Premier League table.
Consequently, there have been many thrilled Liverpudlians in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are sincerely hoping that their team can continue their fine recent form between now and the end of the season, and thus secure another top four finish.
In the meantime though, there has been plenty for our resident Reds fans to get their teeth into, not least recent reports linking them with a summer move for former Real Madrid shot-stopper Iker Casillas.
The 36-year-old currently plays his trade at Portuguese giants Porto and has done so since 2015 after leaving the Spanish capital, for whom he played 724 games, in which time he kept 264 clean sheets, conceded just 750 goals, and won countless major trophies.
And reports suggest that Liverpool could be readying a summer move for the ex-Spain international, yet Klopp simply must forget about a move for Casillas, and instead urge FSG to land one of these TWO goalkeepers during the close season…
Jan Oblak

Atletico Madrid shot-stopper Jan Oblak is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in world football, and no wonder given that he has kept 86 clean sheets and conceded just 90 goals in 146 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side.
Yes, the Spanish outfit are widely renowned for their defensive ability and are arguably the best in the world at the back, and there’s little doubting that 25-year-old Oblak plays a huge part in their remarkable defensive record.
And with Loris Karius improving but not quite at the level seemingly required to challenge for the Premier League title, Klopp and the club’s hierarchy should seriously consider a move for the Slovenia international this summer.
Alisson

Liverpool have been linked with Roma goalkeeper Alisson for a while now, to the point that they reportedly made an approach to sign the 25-year-old during the January window.
And with 21 clean sheets in 52 games for the Italian giants, it’s no wonder the Reds are eyeing the Brazil international as a possible replacement for Karius, with the 25-year-old so impressive that he currently remains his country’s number one goalkeeper ahead of Manchester City’s Ederson.
And given how influential he has been since his move to City last summer, the same could happen with Alisson at Liverpool, in a move Klopp and the club’s board simply must get done during the close season.
