Liverpool need to add to their squad, that’s painfully clear. The Reds are doing so well this season, but they’ve already had a bit of a dropoff this season, and that comes down to a lack of quality in the team.
Defensively, they lack depth, and the same can be said of their attack.
Indeed, what’s more, despite significant investment in the midfield this season, they could arguably also do with a bit more quality in there too. With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain still injured, the Reds lack creativity on occasion, and that’s a problem that has been an issue for them this season.
He’s had a good year this season, and Demirbay is a great player – but is he right for Liverpool? There’s certainly a case for that being true, but there’s also a case for looking at a few alternatives. After all, his form this season has hardly been spectacular.
With that said, Liverpool should target 1 of these 2 creators to improve their midfield instead…
Aaron Ramsey
Aaron Ramsey is, of course, looking set to leave Arsenal at the end of the season, and he’d undeniably be a bit hit at Anfield.
Best used as an offensive midfielder, he’d certainly be able to fit the gap that Liverpool are looking to add to, and that’s not all he’d be able to do.
He’s got bags of quality, and his ability with the ball to his feet is his best attribute, but also, more broadly, the Welshman’s energy and relentless drive would align perfectly with the philosophies of Jurgen Klopp.
Not to mention, his contractual status means that he wouldn’t cost the Reds a major sum, which is an added bonus.
Ondrej Duda
Ondrej Duda is another naturally-gifted attacking midfielder, and like Demirbay, he’s been a real hit in the Bundesliga as of late.
With a fantastic range of passing and dribbling, he’s got bags of technical ability, and he could help offer Jurgen Klopp’s team some fantastic quality going forward.
He’s scored a very impressive 6 league goals so far this season, so that shows the sort of influence that he can have going forward.
Duda lacks physicality somewhat, but at just 23-years-old, he’s still growing and improving as a player, and like Philippe Coutinho, a few years in England could be the making of him.
