The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping their main man Jurgen Klopp can continue to get the best out of his players going into the new season, and with the long-awaited incoming of Naby Keita, the Reds should look a little stronger.

Liverpool back in January seemed to be leaning towards bringing the deal for Naby Keita forward from the summer move, which was originally agreed between the clubs during the summer of 2017. However, Klopp opted to believe in his players and shift the balance of the team following the transfer of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

Many will be hoping that the RB Leipzig midfielder is well worth the wait, although the favourable option for many of the bar staff in the pub is to trust in the squad he has and instil some confidence in a few players that will hopefully pay tenfold and improve more next season.

Klopp has an embarrassing amount of attacking options to hand, and our landlord believes that these two players will be crucial for Liverpool next season, potentially making the signing of Keita look pointless…

Adam Lallana

The England man has been on the injury comeback trail for the past few months, and with a good run of games, it may give the former Southampton man a chance to shine in his own right next year.

The creative midfielder can do a good a job as any before him. With the right kind of chances given to him, he could really be the player that will keep Liverpool’s season going on its current trajectory. Klopp will look to the players who he trusts and none come more so than Lallana.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Under Klopp, ‘The Ox’ has steadily improved this season after becoming a little stale at Arsenal. The move seems to have re-invigorated Chamberlain and he’ll be hoping that following his season-ending injury, his first-team chances start to increase again next season.

He had built up his stock ahead for the World Cup squad in the summer, though an injury looks to have ended his campaign. Still, with Chamberlain impressing both club and country in the second half of the season, putting in some fantastic displays, he’s become a huge part of Klopp’s side.
