Max Meyer is available on a free in the summer and the Gunners face tough competition from their Premier League rivals Liverpool in the race for his signature, according to reports. Our Arsenal fans here in the bar are hoping to see fresh faces alongside possibly a fresh manager, after growing tiresome of underachieving in recent years.

By bringing Meyer in would signal a sign of what the Gunners need to do going forward, with or without Arsene Wenger. A young and promising player with bags full of potential, he could help revitalise proceedings up in north London. Meyer can play in a variety of midfield positions which may be useful for the team and he’s certainly helped Schalke this season with the Bundesliga side currently third in the table.

However, if Jurgen Klopp does get his hands on Meyer, the Gooners may need to look elsewhere if they are to strengthen in the summer. Indeed, Arsenal need more than just another attacking midfielder and our landlord thinks that instead of going for a young winger, the Arsenal board should be pursuing these TWO stars instead…

Riyad Mahrez

The Leicester City winger is desperate for a move away from the King Power Stadium and, in the past two transfer windows, has delivered a request to leave. Furthermore, Mahrez would thrive at the Emirates in a revitalised side, going some way into replacing Alexis Sanchez.

He has all the Premier League experience needed and, more importantly, he has the title-winning form on his side, something that has been missing throughout the squad in recent years.

Mahrez could be the lynchpin of success Arsenal need to push forward.

Goncalo Guedes

The Portuguese forward is helping Valencia to one of their best seasons for years over in La Liga after joining on loan from PSG. His direct dribbling ability and pace makes him a dangerous man to face, pulling opposition defenders everywhere in his wake.

So far, he’s scored five and assisted six in his 24 appearances so far for Los Che, proving his worth as one of the most exciting youngsters in Europe. He can play on either wing, but the left-hand side is his preferred role and can be a lot more direct and dangerous when operating from it.
