Forget Richarlison: 2 exciting attackers Tottenham should land instead

Spurs fans here in the Tavern are hoping for a change of fortunes as the Premier League returns, after struggling to overcome the challenges of a League One opposition in their last encounter.

Indeed, Spurs’ season has been shaped by their inconsistencies in the Premier League, as a failure to perform against the big sides at times has cost their race for a top-four place dearly. Although, this season’s Champions League competition has been one that Tottenham have dominated, with them gaining the upper-hand in their knockout round tie with Juventus.

Although, it’s been in attacking areas that’s caused for a lack of potency when the prolific Harry Kane isn’t firing, as there’s a huge amount of reliability on the shoulders of the Englishman to produce the main bulk. And, Mauricio Pochettino is already looking to solve these problems in the summer, as the Argentine has his eyes set firmly on signing long-term target Richarlison.

However, this isn’t a route that Spurs should look to go down with superior players around the world offering much more in comparison to the Brazilian, who looks to have dropped off the pace in recent times. So without any further ado, here’s a look at TWO attackers that Tottenham should land instead…

Edinson Cavani

The Uruguayan international has established himself as one of the world’s most prolific strikers so far this season, with 28 goals in 34 appearances for current side Paris Saint-Germain.

And, for a player that displays a similar goalscoring record to that of Tottenham’s own Harry Kane, the 31-year-old could be a deadly recruit to welcome to the new stadium for next season.

Indeed, Tottenham benefit off the hold-up play of Harry Kane at the point of their attack, which is a very similar style to the way that Edinson Cavani goes about his devastating business. So, with or without Harry Kane in the Tottenham squad for next season, the PSG striker is someone that Pochettino should look to bring to North London at all costs.

Ciro Immobile

The 27-year-old currently plays his football for Italian side Lazio in the Serie A and has become one of the hottest topics in the whole of world football this season. Indeed, the Italian international has managed to produce a goalscoring record that even rivalled Harry Kane’s at one point, with 26 goals already a healthy tally with a part of the season still to be played.

Ciro Immobile operates in a similar manner to that of which Harry Kane does, as a mixture of a target man and poacher for his current side, while offering brute strength and a deceiving burst of pace.

And, there could be hope for Spurs in bringing the striker to North London in the summer with Kane’s future hangs in the balance, as his current side Lazio are on course for missing out on Champions League football for next season.
