Liverpool supporters in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful that Jurgen Klopp will complete more deals before the conclusion of the summer transfer window.
It’s been a relatively quiet summer on Merseyside, regarding incomings at least! The arrivals of Dominic Solanke and Mohammed Salah
The arrivals of Dominic Solanke and Mohammed Salah were confirmed a long time ago, meaning that Andrew Roberston has been the highlight of Liverpool’s summer over recent weeks.
Their need for defensive recruitment is palpable, Liverpool have one of the most exciting attacks in the league, yet they’re quite frankly awful in defence.
They conceded the second highest total in the top 6 last season, and if they hope to compete for the Premier League title, they must address these defensive insecurities.
Accordingly, our landlord has suggested that Jurgen Klopp targets Boro captain, Ben Gibson, as a player who could inject strength, solidity, and stability to Liverpool’s defence.
At the age of 24, Gibson has already displayed great maturity and surrounded with better players; he will only improve. The Englishman is an imposing figure, a dominant presence in the air and our landlord can foresee a sturdy partnership between Gibson and Matip.
The Middlesbrough defender is lauded for his ability to retain possession, and his composed nature while defending is very impressive.
He did well during his first season in Premier League, and our landlord believes he possesses the necessary qualities and the right temperament to thrive at a big club. Liverpool should make their move quickly; time is running out.
Liverpool fans, do you agree? Let us know!
