Future Salah: Liverpool must land this £36m-rated wonderkid to fire them to the title

Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are buzzing with club’s early moves in the transfer market and are excited to watch their stars perform at the World Cup.

The Reds moved quickly to secure the signature of Monaco midfielder Fabinho under the noses of rivals Manchester United and were expected to land Lyon captain, Nabil Fekir. The £53m transfer fell through after a medical raised concern over the Frenchman’s long-term fitness. If the deal can be restructured after the World Cup, Fekir could still be playing at Anfield next year.

Adding depth to the attack will be a priority this summer with few options available to Jurgen Klopp on the substitutes bench. When one of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino or Mohamed Salah are missing, Liverpool look a different side. Salah’s departure in the Champions League final against Real Madrid cost the Reds dearly; they need a player who can come off the bench and change the game.

One man they would be foolish to overlook is Paris St Germain winger – Goncalo Guedes. The youngster is considered one of Europe’s hottest prospects and was signed for £27m in January 2017 from Benfica. However, he failed to break into the first-team and was loaned to Valencia last summer.

Guedes excelled in La Liga, scoring five goals and notching 11 assists from right-wing. He would be an excellent signing if Liverpool could lure him to England. Valued at £36m by Transfermarkt, PSG could be tempted into a sale due to financial fair play restriction. Moves for Neymar and Kylian Mbappe has left the French champions with little manoeuvrability in the transfer market.

The Portuguese international is an excellent dribbler and has bags of pace. He is the match winner that Liverpool need. Signing Guedes would allow Klopp to rotate his key attackers. Under the German’s tutelage, the 21-year-old could be world class.
