West Ham fans have had precious little to cheer about in the Transfer Tavern this season, but with their weekend win over Swansea, it seems that relegation fears have been swept aside and that planning for next season can get underway.
And one man that might be in the Hammers’ set-up is young defender Reece Burke, who made his long-awaited comeback from injury for the club’s U-23s earlier this week. The 20-year-old has spent the season on loan at Wigan, he’s still officially with the Latics, but hasn’t played a competitive match since October of last year with fitness issues having sidelined him.

The result might not have been positive, Middlesbrough beat the Hammers 3-1, but getting back in action was something Burke enjoyed and he posted the above tweet in the aftermath of the match.
And it seems West Ham fans were just as happy as the player himself judging by some of the responses…
