Glasgow Rangers: Fans hammer Michael Stewart article

Glasgow Rangers’ finances have been brought into question over the past few days.

The Gers are said to be putting the final touches to their deal to sign Romania international Ianis Hagi. The 21-year-old joined on loan from Genk during the January transfer window, with the Ibrox outfit said to have a €5m purchase option should they want to keep him on a permanent basis.

Pundit Michael Stewart, though, has questioned how the Gers can even do that given their rumoured financial situation. He initially made a comment on Twitter, but has now doubled down in an article for The Scottish Sun, where he goes into more detail.

Indeed, in the piece Stewart writes: “For starters I’m not sure Gers even have that kind of money to spend. The sums don’t add up. This is a club who lost £11million in the last financial year and needed £10million just to see the season out.”

Unsurprisingly, this has attracted the attention from the Gers supporters, and they are far from happy with his latest quotes. They have taken to the social media platform to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments below.
