Glasgow Rangers: Fans hammer Jim Spence’s tweet about 2012 administration

The last decade or so has been a very difficult one for Glasgow Rangers.

In 2012, the ‘Gers entered administration as their financial troubles took their toll. They were consequently relegated to the fourth tier of Scottish football, from where they needed to climb through the leagues to make it back to the Premiership.

When they were demoted to that level of the country’s footballing pyramid, it effectively saw the end of the old holding company that had control over Rangers, which led to another one being formed. That has led to many claiming that this current club was only formed in 2012, even if they have taken over all of the records of Ibrox teams before then.

Journalist Jim Spence is one of those who subscribes to this viewpoint and he brought up some old comments he made in 2013 surrounding the saga, saying that the old club had “died”. This has not gone down well with these ‘Gers supporters, who have taken to Twitter to share their thougths, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below:
