Spurs fans here in the Tavern are looking to make the most of their Champions League experience, as a top-four finish is beginning to slip away from the Lilywhites.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side showed early signs of a possible title challenge as Manchester City’s closest competitors. But, since then things just haven’t worked out for Spurs, as their early season momentum looks to be coming to nothing, with them slipping further adrift of Chelsea in fourth.
However, with their Champions League hopes lay firmly in the hands of a two-legged tie with last year’s finalists Juventus, it’s an encounter that many fans hope will see their side replicate the performances shown against Real Madrid.
Indeed, in a side that’s had the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen enjoy their best seasons in the white shirt, attraction from some of Europe’s vultures is going to become the reality.
Of course, when you’re given the opportunity to renew one of your star player’s contracts, the last thing you want to do is make any mistakes that could see the player head for the exits.
With Dane Christian Eriksen only having two-years left on his contract, Daniel Levy is looking to reward him with a new and improved offer that would likely take him into the top bracket.
But, with attraction coming from Juventus and a whole host of other European giants, Spurs will be looking to get the deal done at all costs.
And, here’s TWO reasons as to why Levy can’t afford to mess this one up…
The future of Spurs

The Danish international is only 25-years-old with his whole career still ahead of him. At a time where he hasn’t even hit his peak, the future for Eriksen looks to be one that Tottenham must treasure.
In a season that’s seen Spurs beat the world’s best footballing side and show moments of brilliance in the Premier League, Eriksen has always been at the forefront of these special moments as their main creative spark.
Tottenham will be able to set their sights on trophies in the near future should they manage to keep hold of the likes of Alli and Kane. But, seeing the back of the Dane would immediately make the English pairing less potent in the side.
Irreplaceable

Christian Eriksen is going a long way to writing his name in Tottenham folklore after his goals and assists have given fans and the club the happiest of times in years gone by.
If you take a look around the world at players that could possibly replace the Dane you’ll struggle to find any, as the quality of goals, dribbling and creativity from the 25-year-old is incomparable.
For a player that lives for Tottenham Hotspur, the club will struggle to find a suitable replacement that can find a place in fans’ hearts in the manner of which Eriksen has during his time in North London.
