Celtic forward Giorgos Giakoumakis is poised for a surprise January exit from the Premiership champions, according to reliable reporters Scott Burns and Duncan Castles.

The Greece marksman took time to settle in at Parkhead after arriving in Scotland last year due to a number of issues. However, the 27-year-old ended up netting 17 times under Ange Postecoglou last term, helping the Hoops to win a domestic double.
The ‘effective player’, as labelled by journalist Josh Bunting, has already netted eight times during the current campaign, but it seems as if he could be on his way out of Celtic.

The reliable journalists add that there is already strong European interest in Giakoumakis, with Celtic actively looking for a new forward.
The Verdict: Bigger blow than Juranovic?
Giakoumakis could leave Celtic alongside right-back Josip Juranovic in January, and you could argue that the forward’s prospective departure may be the bigger blow of the two.
Parkhead chiefs appear to be closing in on signing right-back Alistair Johnston, with the Canada international seemingly a like-for-like replacement for Juranovic.
